...would have been better as a class ability for the Morrigu
A review of Cold Heart Armor by Barbed Wire Halo
Introduction
The flavor intro, though a bit hard to read really give a feel for the Morrigu... Even though I was looking in the armor section of this site, I half expected this submission to be for a class.
Cons
The flavor is great, but a rather difficult read. My eyes kept wanting to just skim over the flavor and go straight to the mechanics. Even after reading through the flavor text, the flavor leads me to believe it will be followed by prestige class information for the Morrigu, which I feel this armor and its abilities would have been better suited as a class ability for such a prestige class. Perhaps the crafting of such a suit could be a prerequisite to gaining such a prestige class.
Do the streamers with arrow tips actually do anything more than look cool? Each arrow has magical runes on it which leads me to believe they actually do something. Is it these arrows that grant the incorporeality?
Pros
The rules are detailed and explicit, leaving little to no guesswork as to how the armor works.
Price and prereqs seem balanced with the bonuses given.
Conclusion
Nice flavor, a useful item, but better suited as a feature for a Prestige class.
