Sunder Magic violently tears the fabric of a spell apart, releasing the energy in a multi-colored burst of force, that causes damage to those around. Sunder Magic works exactly like Dispel Magic, except for the following:
Sunder Magic does not affect magic items.
For every level of a spell torn apart, Sunder Magic deals 1d6 points of force damage to the spellcaster, creature, or object that the spell had been cast on. No matter how many spell levels are dispelled, Sunder Magic cannot deal more than 1d6 points or damage per caster level.
Area of effect spells deal the force damage to every creature in the area of Sunder Magic and allow a reflex save for half damage.
Example: Mialee, a 15th level wizard, targets Sunder Magic on a drow who is under the effects of Haste, Mage Armor and Bull's Strength. All three spells were cast by a 7th level wizard. Mialee makes a dispel check for every spell (DC 18). If she succeeds the spell is torn apart, ending the effect and causing force damage to the drow equal to 1d6 points of damage per spell level. Let's say Mialee succeeds at all of her dispel checks. The drow would then suffer 6d6 points of force damage.
