Shaarthuus
Explore the lands of Shaarthuus from the continent of Elerin to the oriental-style land of Shien.
Shaarthuus is a world where humans are in the minority. Most nations are ruled by elves, dwarves, or ogres. Halflings, gnomes, orcs, lizardfolk, and goblinoids have large communities, usually within the larger countries. There is even a large city ruled by a gold dragon and most of the population are dragon-blooded (though it could be a rumor, as its existence has never been confirmed).
Shaarthuus, in the beginning...
Within another place, another time and in perfect state of mind, a higher power took it upon himself to travel worlds unexplored by most. This godlike individual had the power to bring forth land from sea and upon arrival in a world of nothing but water, he thought this would be his best opportunity to set grounds.
Upon doing so, the sea dwellers learned to adapt to civilization upon the lands and within the first few hundred years, they started to praise the one who brought land to their world. He was known as the Bringer of Air, the one true god who only wished to enhance their existance by helping them learn that there's more to life than what's beneath the waters. The Bringer's powers were getting out of control and he knew that he had to set some limits or this world, that he had created, would succumb to the effects of his power and all would die in the process.
The Bringer was not one who would let this happen to a world now starting to thrive and he set forth, to other worlds he had visited on many occasions, to seek out high powered individuals who could rule the lands and keep the peace. The first to agree was a man called Chronus, a man who had the power of insight. Chronus was a neutral individual, willing to keep things in balance and willing to travel to other worlds, helping the Bringer find the right individuals to become gods.
The Bringer and Chronus watched with a careful eye, for those who would deserve to have the power of a god and while they spoke of those that would rule the world, the Bringer's power was getting out of control even more. He had to release some of his growing powers to others, or he would end up bringing an end to what he created. Giving Chronus some of his power wasn't enough. They had to act fast. Chronus found a few that would be worthy of such power and the Bringer agreed to relinquish some of his, to assist the soon to be new gods of the world, yet to be named.
Cassidy, Snow Storm, Umber, Antonn and Malukai were the first to be chosen. Though there were others to follow, these few individuals had proven their worth as they were sent on a mission which the Bringer had made as an almost impossible task to accomplish. Once they realized what their mission was and once they accomplished it, easier than the Bringer and Chronus had thought, they were granted with some of the powers that the Bringer had to give up.
Hundreds of years later and many more to become gods of a land yet to be named, the Bringer was finally starting to feel at ease. Though releasing his powers to the new gods had taken a toll on him and he was starting to become an individual who lost more than he had bargained for. He had been weakened beyond his knowledge. The mortals started worshipping the other gods and had forgotten about the Bringer.
The Bringer's work was done and although he despised relinquishing most of his power to the new gods, he knew it had to be done and with the mortals forgetting about the Bringer as time moved on, he knew it was time to let go. Upon his death bed, he spoke to Chronus. "I shall ask one request, then I shall be free and finally at peace. This world shall be called Shaarthuus. I name it that, for my beloved wife, long ago. Her name was Shaar and thus I must name this world as such." The Bringer spoke his last words to Chronus, then his body disappeared, never to be seen again.
Present time upon the world of Shaarthuus (500 years after the disappearance of the Bringer): More to come...
