Syringe Rig (Huge; Exotic)
Extra appendages for nasty stings
This mostly wooden contrivance is designed for use with fighting syringes. Two long, hinged wooden arms attach to a base strapped to the user's back. Control strings ties around the user's wrists allow the user to cause the arm's to snap forward and inject the contents of a syringe. The two syringes that can be operated by the rig are not included in the purchase price.
A syringe rig attack may be made as any of the user's normal attacks. Because the hands are left free, the user can wield weapons and can freely divide the attack he gets in a round between the rig attacks and normal weapon strikes. However, a syringe rig attack may never be made using an attack granted by any two-weapon fighting feat or Flurry of Blows. (i.e. Syringe rig attacks may only be made as normal attacks granted by the user's BAB). Dual-wielding users also cannot make the extra off-hand weapon attack normally allowed if wielding two weapons unless at least one primary weapon attack (using on of the attacks normally granted by the BAB) is made that round.
As with fighting syringes, the user's normal BAB, not any special unarmed BAB, is used for the syringe rig (unless the user has a feat or PrC ability that states otherwise.)
Without proficiency in this exotic weapon (distinct from Syringe Proficiency), the user takes a -4 penalty on all attacks made while the syringe rig is equipped, regardless of what kind of attacks are being made or whether any syringe rig attacks are being made.
Attacking with the syringe rig is exactly like attacking with a normal fighting syringe, except that the rig grants the user 10 ft. reach with the syringes. The syringes may be reloaded as a full round action for each syringe, as with syringes used normally. The syringe rig is considered to impose a -10 armor check penalty whenever it is equipped.
Although the syringe rig is considered huge for purposes of storage, etc, do not apply the normal rules for weapon sizes for use with this weapon. A huge version can be used by any medium-sized humanoid creature exactly as described here. It will not fit other size creatures. A large version, for small creatures, is identical in price and function, and weighs 15 lbs.
