Knight

From the gates arose a clatter as the embodiment of the kingdom's hopes and dreams charged across the lowered drawbridge...

A heavy armor wearing warrior, who fights for good. They serve a lord or king who they are completely loyal to.

Adventures: Knights adventure for pretty much the same reasons as good fighters do, but knights love the thrill of battle more than anything else.

Characteristics: A great warrior, master of weapons and armor, and thrill seeker.

Alignment: Lawful because they are the lawmakers of their country.

Religion: Knights choose from Kord, St. Cuthbert, Heroneious and other lawful good gods of war and justice.

Background: Varies as much as everyone elses.

Races: Humans and dwarves are most common, elves, half-elves, halflings, and gnomes are rare.

Other Classes: Knights do not worry about others as they are trained to take each moment and person as they come. The only true clashes are between knights and rogues when ideals clash...

Knights have the following game statistics.
Abilities: Strength and Constitution are most important.
Alignment:
Hit Die: d10

Class Skills

The Knight's class skills (and the key ability for each skill) are Climb (Str), Craft (Int), Jump (Str), Profession (Wis), Ride (Str), Swim (Str).. See Chapter 4: Skills for skill descriptions.

Skill Points at 1st Level: (2 + Int modifier) x 4.
Skill Points at Each Additional Level: 2 + Int modifier.

Class Features

All of the following are class features of the Knight

Weapon and Armor Proficency: All armor, all simple and martial weapons.

Mount: All knights have a horse.

If the knight's original mount survives to when the knight reaches level 13, the mount gains the empathic link ability.

Fighting Style: 2nd level: A knight can choose a combat style. The styles which can be picked are: Dual wield two weapons or just one two-handed weapon. If the knight chooses to fight with two weapons, he gains the feat Two Weapon Fighting for free, even if he does not meet the prerequisites. If the knight chooses to fight with one two-handed weapon, he gains the Weapon Focus feat for the weapon he chooses to wield.

6th level: A knight who has picked to dual wield, gains the Improved Two-Weapon Fighting feat even if he does not meet the prerequisites. Knights who've picked the two handed combat style gain the Weapon Specialization feat, even if they don't meet the requirements.

11th level: A knight who has picked to dual wield, gains the Greater Two-Weapon Fighting feat even if he does not meet the prerequisites. Knights who've picked the two handed combat style gain the Greater Weapon Focus feat for the weapon they wield, even if they don't meet the requirements.

Heroic Charm: The knight has a very friendly personality, he gets a +4 bonus on Charisma-based checks with non-hostile people.

Bonus Feat: A knight can choose bonus feats from the fighter list.

Aura of Courage: Same as a paladin's aura of courage .
